Janalee Welch is a retired teacher and lifelong artist. She has worked in pastel, oil, ink, mixed media, and acrylic. Drawing from the ocean, the rocks, the beaches, and the sky, Janalee’s color palette is rich, vibrant, and expressive. “I have always been drawn to simplicity, symmetry, line, geometric patterns, and the striking contrasts of warm light and deep shadow.” Her expressionistic works are meant to evoke feelings of warm summer sun, ocean breezes, and the ever- changing atmosphere found in nature’s abundant beauty around her home and gardens.
